After the sudden end of Argo AI, VW is aiming for closer cooperation with Mobileye.
Last week it was announced that VW and ford from Argo AI separate, which means its actual end. Now VW apparently wants to get closer Mobileye work together to get autonomous driving on the road.
Mobileye is an Intel company and has a solid reputation in the autonomous driving industry. It was recently announced that Mobileye’s technology in Geely vehicles will be installed. There are also already connections to VW, for example in relation to VW’s software unit Cariad.
VW is committed to launching a robotic taxi service by 2025. There are consistent media reports, but VW has not yet commented on this. The Mobileye technique then flows into the ID Buzz models used in Hamburg should run. The autonomous service is to start there as Moia.
As an alternative to Mobileye, VW could also enter into a cooperation with Qualcomm.
