Data Vantage: Speedoc, Sunbird Bio, Nuevocor, Fonos and Mindtera bag funding

Digital health platform Speedoc secured $13 million in new funding from investors, including Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, last week.

The lead investor in the Series A2 funding was Erste WV Gütersloh GmbH, a subsidiary of German conglomerate Bertelsmann. The startup’s share price in the latest round is more than twice that in its last financing in Dec 2020.

Founded by Dr Shravan Verma, Speedoc operates as a virtual clinic and hospital care provider, combining on-site and digital services to provide care for patients in their homes.

Singapore-based diagnostics startup Sunbird Bio bagged $5 million last week from ClavystBio, which is an investment firm established by Temasek Holdings subsidiary CLA Real Estate Holdings, and funds affiliated with Polaris Partners. ClavystBio, which is also a limited partner in funds managed by Polaris Partners, contributed $2.5 million to the round.

Founded by Dr Huilin Shao, Sunbird Bio is a developer of next-generation diagnostic platforms and seeks to provide faster, more accurate outcomes across diseases such as infectious diseases, neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.

Biotech startup Nuevocor bagged $11.6 million from existing investors, including Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund and EDBI, last week.

Vietnam-based audio platform Fonos received $1.8 million from North Base Media, Monk’s Hill Ventures and other investors in fresh funding last week.

Stock trading startup Marketwolf received $475k from Riverwalk Holdings last week as part of a $10 million Series A round announced in July. The company, which operates in India, has so far received $7.5 million in equity funding as part of the said round.

Mindtera, a SaaS platform for employee engagement, received $250k from East Ventures and other investors in seed financing last week.

Foodpanda‘s Singapore-registered entity received $4 million from parent Delivery Hero, bringing its total funding this year to $34.11 million.

Flying Cape, an online booking platform for tuition classes, received nearly $391k from OCBC NISP Ventura last week.
