Spanish electric mobility brand Urbet is making a splash at EICMA, the world’s best-known two-wheeler trade fair which opens in Milan, Italy today and goes on till November 13. The Marbella-based EV maker aims to use EICMA as a platform to target different European markets and also showcase its existing range as well as new products.
Urbet, which is already present in the Spanish market through more than 20 authorised dealers, as well as in Germany, Portugal and the United Arab Emirates, is to soon enter the Italian market through a new partner.
This will also be the first time the company shows LORA S in an international exhibition. Thanks to its 360 km range, its 24 HP of maximum power and a naked design with neo-retro lines, the model will help to project the URBET ELECTRIC MOTORS brand in a stronger way in the different european markets.
Urbet’s EVs on two wheels
The Urbet range opens with the Riazor, a moped based on the concept of a flat-floor urban scooter. Pricing for the Riazor in Spain starts at 2,200 euros (Rs 177,000). Next up is the Ego, the brand’s second electric moped which is a more radical looker and priced at 3,900 euros (Rs 314,000)
The smart-looking Gadiro is Urbet’s best-seller at present. According to the company, this 125cc equivalent offers up to 160 kilometres of autonomy in its dual battery version and is “one of the most affordable 125 electric bikes in Europe, starting at 3,500 euros (Rs 282,000).
The Lora electric motorcycle and Lora S, which are set to be sold in Europe by end-2022, will also be showcased at EICMA. The Lora S version, which has a 19 kW motor (24hp) has a top speed of 150kph and a range of up to 360km on a full charge of its 15.1 kWh battery. The net-retro Lora S will get its first public showing.
The highlight of the EICMA display will be the Gran Via, an all-new electric maxi-scooter that aims to satisfy those who need a scooter with bigger dimensions and better performance than a traditional urban scooter. Positioned between the Gadiro and Lora in terms of performance, it has a top speed of 120kph, thanks to a central electric motor with 9 kW of continuous power and 20 kW of maximum power. The Urbet Gran Via, with a full charge of its 7.56 kWh battery (72 V, 105 Ah), can complete journeys of more than 130 kilometres between charges.
