- Supervisory Board plans to propose to the 2023 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting that PwC be elected independent auditors starting fiscal year 2024
Based on the recommendation of the Audit Committee and on basis of their own evaluation, the Supervisory Board of Mercedes-Benz Group AG (ticker symbol: MBG) resolved to propose to the 2023 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting to appoint PricewaterhouseCoopers GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft as the auditor for the fiscal year 2024.
The Supervisory Board based its decision on the results of a transparent and non-discriminatory tender process for the selection of a new auditor. The tender process, which was under the responsibility of the Audit Committee and in accordance with current E.U. Regulation, was carried out at an early stage in order to ensure a timely and smooth transition of the engagement in line with the requirements of Auditor independence.
The change of auditor is required by law, as the current group auditor KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft will reach the maximum term for audits of financial statements after the audit of the fiscal year 2023 in accordance with the E.U. Regulation (EU) 537/2014.
