“A genius with an extraordinary talent”. On the occasion of Milano AutoClassica with Piero Ferrari, son of the Drake
At the inauguration of Milano AutoClassica today, the president of the Automobile Club of Italy, Angelo Sticchi Damiani – for the occasion together with the engineer Piero Ferrari, son of the Drake – wanted to warmly remember the figure of Eng. Mauro Forghieri, who passed away recently. “A genius – these were the words of the number one of the Motorists’ Club – an eclectic design engineer, a professional in Formula 1 and beyond, having also worked in Gran Turismo and rallies. An extraordinary talent who contributed to the victories of Scuderia Ferrari: with him 4 drivers’ and 7 constructors’ titles. I had the honor of knowing him and the pleasure of meeting him when he was teaching at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Lecce. My memory is that of a pleasant man, sometimes brusque, but always sincere and passionate”.
