An autonomous vehicle from Schaeffler is used by the DAI laboratory on the Berlin test track.

In 2019, the test site was opened in the center of the capital. The test area runs from the Brandenburg Gate via the Victory Column to Adenauerplatz in public transport. For the test field it goes without saying that some autonomous vehicles are also needed. One of them was recently delivered to the DAI laboratory of the TU Berlin.

The vehicle was developed together with the DAI laboratory in the Belntelli research project. Schaeffler has the transporter from the house VW equipped with a drive-by-wire system and sensors. The “Space Drive System” from Schaeffler, which eliminates mechanical actuators, also comes into its own here. Now the VW transporter has been handed over by the supplier Schaeffler.

Within two years, the vehicle should then drive through traffic automatically and communicate with the infrastructure. First, you test the capabilities of the vehicle in the lab.
