After the cyber attack on the automotive supplier Continental, the supervisory board ordered the executive board to report. The control committee was informed about the current status of the investigation at an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday evening. Among other things, experts explained the course of the attack. According to Handelsblatt information, the attack began much earlier than previously known.
The hackers apparently gained access to Continental’s servers on July 4th. The automotive supplier’s IT experts only discovered the attack on August 4th. The cybercriminals had the opportunity to look around the Dax group’s network undisturbed for around a month – and apparently took advantage of it.
