A center for future mobility is being created in South Korea, which also includes autonomous driving.
At the weekend, the Ministry of Transport announced South Koreathat it will set up a transfer center. Future forms of transport are to be bundled there. Specifically, one calls the Urban Air Mobility (air taxis), personal mobility and autonomous driving as well as local public transport via train and bus.
Since the beginning of the week, the committee has been collecting ideas for pilot projects that the transfer center of the future can initiate. The main aim is mobility-as-a-service concepts for the municipalities. The mission of the center is to make it easier for people to combine smooth transport and the economy of future modes of transport.
Which projects will actually be implemented will be announced at the end of March. The municipalities must submit the plans that determine the economics, local conditions and form of mobility. The form of networking, financing and transport infrastructure must also be included.
A jury of experts from the transport, urban planning, architecture and engineering sectors judges the projects. One billion won (726,500 euros) are available for their implementation.
