GM’s SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) joint venture has, on December 12, added the all-new Wuling Air EV to its electrified portfolio in China, alongside the Wuling Hong Guang MINIEV, Wuling Nano EV and Baojun KiWi EV.
Four variants, including two- and four-seat versions with an electric range of 300km under CLTC conditions, are on offer in the world’s largest EV market and are priced between RMB 67,800 (Rs 805,000) and RMB 82,800 (Rs 983,000).
The four-seat version is 2974mm long, 1505mm wide and 1631mm high, with a 2010-mm wheelbase. The top variant has a 50-kW drive motor generating 150 Nm of maximum torque, a 10.25-inch dual screen, 360deg panoramic video and the Ling OS connectivity system. It also has 704 litres of trunk space. Forty-five minutes of DC fast charging enables a charge from 30 percent to 80 percent.
In addition, the Air EV comes standard with a driver airbag, Bluetooth, three USB ports, hill start assist, the anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, automatic collision unlocking, auto-lock for driving, tye pressure alarm monitoring and rear reversing radar.
As a strategic product that officially kicked off the globalisation of SGMW’s NEV business, the Wuling Air EV was first launched in Indonesia in August and served as the official car partner for the 2022 G20 Summit that was held in Bali, Indonesia last month.
