Southeast Asia has witnessed more direct secondary deal flows in both the PE and VC space, said Desmond Lee, Managing Director of TPG-backed Asia GP solution specialist NewQuest Capital Partners, at DealStreetAsia’s Asia PE-VC Summit 2022 in Singapore on September 27-28.
At a panel titled ‘Is the time ripe for secondaries as IPOs and trade exits turn cold?’, experts said secondary transactions are picking up steam in Southeast Asia as private equity and venture capital funds seek more options for liquidity, but the quality of assets and pricing mechanism should not be overlooked.
