Panasonic Energy, a subsidiary of the Panasonic Group, will supply Lucid Motors with batteries for its Air EV and upcoming Gravity SUV.
The agreement is Panasonic’s latest step towards expanding the production of its lithium-ion batteries beyond Japan, and into the U.S. The batteries provided for the upcoming Lucid EVs will be produced at two Panasonic Energy facilities – one in Japan, and a dedicated U.S. battery production facility set to open in De Soto, Kansas in the near-future.
