New Delhi : Statiq, India’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging network provider, in association with Nexus Malls, has launched its first EV charging station in Amritsar at Nexus Amritsar Mall. The charging station is equipped with two fast EV DC Chargers of 60 KW each to charge all kinds of electric cars available in the Indian market. The vehicles can be charged up to 80% in about 40 minutes, Statiq said in a media release.
With this association, Statiq is launching 17 EV Charging hubsacross 13 cities: Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Udaipur, Mangalore, Chandigarh, Mysore, and Indore.Each of these new charging hubs in the mall parking lots will offer a combination of slow and fast chargersso that users can easily charge their electric two, three and four wheelers, the release said.
“The holy city of Amritsar is also being developed as a smart city in recent years. A clean and carbon- less mobility system is one of the key and indispensable components of an emerging smart city ecosystem. With the installation of this charging station, needless to say, it would make life much easy for countless EV users in the city making their daily commute hassle-free and comfortable. At the same time, it would also give confidence to non-EV owners helping them in their decision to pivot to electric vehicles from predominantly petrol and diesel-powered vehicles. For a highly polluted city like Amritsar this is a huge stride in terms of also addressing pollution, Akshit Bansal, co-founder and CEO, Statiq, said.

By the end of the year it aims to have about 20,000 charging stations, the release said.
