Hong Kong-based venture capitalist Gobi Partners, which is a backer of the NFT and blockchain gaming firm Animoca Brands, sees a lot of opportunities in the Web 3.0 and metaverse space.
“Web 3.0 is a new era that we’re keeping an eye on and that we’re making selective bets. But I do believe that, as we say in China, ‘the water is very deep’. There is a whole new generation of investors and ‘crypto natives’ who dedicate their full-time jobs, night and day, to study opportunities in that space. There is a lot going on and a lot of hype. Investors will just need to be aware of these,” said Chibo Tang, managing partner of Gobi Partners at the Asia PE-VC Summit 2022 organised by DealStreetAsia in September.
