New Delhi: Saera Electric Auto Private Limited (SEAPL), a leading player in the electric vehicle (EV) industry in India, has entered into a contract manufacturing agreement with the leading EMaaS (Electric Mobility as a Service) and CaaS (Charging/Energy as a Service) company, ETO Motors.

ETO Motors is a leading OEM fleet services provider supporting major B2B business with its 360 degree electric vision, revolutionizing the business and public transportation through mobility and energy solutions, the company said in a media release.

ETO, with its state- of- the-art manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, is collaborating with SAERA to expand its Micro Assembly Strategy for better regional deployment efficiencies. SAERA with its world-class manufacturing facility is joining hands with ETO as a manufacturing partner and also collaborating with ETO on the battery solutions for vehicle brands beyond ETO. This collaboration will see vehicles of ETO Motors be manufactured in the Saera Electric Plant in Bawal (Haryana).

Saera has established itself as a leading EV player with immense repute and expertise in manufacturing of clean and green vehicles. Also, our vision is to guide the world forward for the better by 3Es, Environment, Employment and Empowerment, which is in line with the vision of Saera Electric Auto,” Deepankar Tiwari, Non-Executive Vice Chairman of ETO Motors, said.

Recently, both the entities have gained industry attention by exhibiting their innovative products. While Saera unveiled its exclusive product Electric Golf Cart in the Indian market, ETO Motors entered into an agreement with GMR Varalakshmi Foundation and MOWO, an NGO promoting safe mobility for women. The company has set up over 30 MW of EV charging infrastructure across the country. ETO Motors has set a production capacity of hundreds of units every year from Saera Electric Auto’s manufacturing plant in Bawal, increasing the numbers by the year.

In a statement, Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV) Secretary General Ajay Sharma said due to the impact of COVID-19, the Phased Manufacturing Programme (PMP) guidelines under FAME India Scheme Phase-II were expected to be revised but for various reasons were not modified “in spite of clear indications that these could not be met.”


Motorbikes, scooters, small and light vehicles have all been of interest to the company and over the next 12 months, a lot more announcements on these products will be made, co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal said.
