Fiat India Automobiles (FIAPL), a 50:50 joint to between Tata Motors and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), has appointed Rajesh Khatri as its President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with immediate effect. Khatri has succeeded Ravi Gogia who was handling the charge of company’s President since 2019.
Prior to the new assignment, Khatri was holding the charge as a vice president and head of operation of the passenger vehicle business at Tata Motors helping the company de-bottleneck operation and helped the brand triple its output from 1.7 lakh units to over half a million units in the last three years.
Today, the Ranjangaon plant in Mahrashtra accounts for 25% of the total output of Tata Motors.
The Fiat India plant is being predominantly used by Tata Motors for Nexon SUV production (around 1.6 lakh units) and accounts for over 75-80 per cent of the plant output. About 20,000 to 25,000 Jeep products are made in this plant.
According to people in the know, Mohan Savarkar, Vice President, Product Lines – Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, has taken on additional responsibility as the interim operations lead. A Tata Motors spokesperson has confirmed the development.
