China EV makers worried by end of subsidies and chip crunch

GUANGZHOU, China — Chinese electric vehicle makers expect to be under pressure after a bumper year with the withdrawal of friendly government subsidies and uncertainties driven by the shift to living with COVID-19.

The global shortage of semiconductors for EVs was another concern raised by industry players at the 2022 Auto Guangzhou motor show, which opened on Friday in the southern Chinese city.
