Welovesupermom co-founder Joan Ong on Tuesday announced in a Linkedin Post that the Singapore-based startup had raised $6 million in Series A funding from Qualgro Partners and other investors, including AC Ventures.
Parenting platform Welovesuperman, which claims to have about 20 million users, offers price comparisons on popular brands. It also allows more than 200 brands, including Kimberly Clark, Procter & Gamble, and Philips, to engage with their target audience and get insights on their products.
In her LinkedIn post, Ong also thanked their early investors, saying, “We also thank Koh Boon Hwee who recognised our potential earlier on and has given us invaluable support in our journey. We are grateful for the opportunity to bring our vision to life and make a positive impact in the world.”
Singapore-based Welovesupermom has a presence in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand. TechCrunch reported that Welovesupermom will use its new funding to increase its data and product capabilities,] and further expand in Southeast Asia.
Media reports also said the startup will be increasing its staff hiring to build a “consumer data powerhouse” in the region.
Founded in 2013 by Joan Ong, Luke Lim, Lynn Yeoh and Rebecca Koh, Welovesupermom also hosts parent communities and events through its platform.
Parenting startups have been garnering signficant investor interest of late. DealStreetAsia reported earlier on Tuesday that Surge, an accelerator programme by Sequoia Capital for early-stage startups in India and Southeast Asia, has led a $4.2-million funding for Indonesia-based parenting tech startup Tentang Anak, according to regulatory filings.
