In line with the global sales trend for luxury carmakers last year, Lamborghini too has announced record sales for CY2022. The Italian manufacturer clocked its best sales figures ever in its history – 9,233 cars worldwide, which is an increase of 10% over CY2021.
Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said: “Our trend of growth and development continues. We have been able to carefully and meticulously manage an extraordinary order intake, pursuing a clear strategy with the primary objective of maintaining controlled growth to protect the exclusivity of our brand. 2023 is going to be a year of challenges and changes that we are ready to confront by always pushing ourselves beyond. We now have the opportunity to focus on our next objectives also thanks to an 18-month waiting list, which enables us to look to the future and the upcoming goals with confidence.”
USA remains biggest market, Urus best-seller
Sales growth for Lamborghini in all macro-regions was positive, with Asia registering +14%, followed by America with +10% and finally EMEA with +7% compared to 2021. Sales, in almost all key markets, broke all records. The number of dealers also rose from 173 to 180 in one year and with a presence in 53 different countries.
The United States remains in the top spot (2,721 cars delivered, up 10%), followed by Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong & Macau (1,018 cars, up 9%), Germany (808 cars, up 14%), United Kingdom (650 cars, up 15%) and Japan (546 cars, up 22%).
In terms of models, the Urus Super SUV was the best-seller with 5,367 units (up 7% over 2021), followed by the Huracán (3,113 units, up 20%) and the Aventador with 753 units, reaching the end of its production in September 2022.
