In separate people updates from Indian startups, edtech firm UpGrad chief executive Arjun Mohan has stepped down from his role while car-sharing firm Zoomcar has named former Grab executive Ashu Singhal as its chief technology and product officer.

Edtech firm UpGrad’s chief executive Arjun Mohan has stepped down from his role, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
Mohan reportedly resigned from the firm in December.
“I have decided to move out of UpGrad after almost 3 years of service as the CEO of India business. My last day of employment will be Jan 15,” Mohan said in the statement after Reuters reached out for comment.
UpGrad appointed Mohan as CEO in 2020. According to his LinkedIn profile, Mohan previously worked as the chief business officer at BYJU’s.
Zoomcar names ex-Grab exec as CTO
Car-sharing firm Zoomcar on Tuesday said it has named former Grab executive Ashu Singhal as chief technology and product officer.
Singhal will be overseeing the overall product strategy and engineering execution to deliver customer experience across the firm’s markets.
At Grab, Singhal was the head of the fulfillment and marketplace team. Singhal has previously served stints at Microsoft and Ola.
