Maruti Suzuki says company has lowest carbon dioxide emission from its fleet

Maruti Suzuki MD Hisashi Takeuchi says the company has the lowest “fleet carbon dioxide emissions” in the industry.

The company believes the deployment of multiple technologies such as EVs, Hybrids, CNG, bio-CNG and ethanol will help to achieve the national goal of lowering emissions and oil consumption.

“We have powertrain technologies like smart Hybrid, strong Hybrid and natural gas that can cover a large part of our volumes to reduce the total carbon emissions substantially,” said Takeuchi in his media address ahead of the unveiling of EVX concept SUV.

Along with its parent company Suzuki Motor Corporation, the market leader says it remains confident and committed to the long-term growth story of India.

“With specific emphasis on Atma Nirbhar Bharat, we have committed ourselves to bring new products, technologies, investments and set up new capacities all in India,” assured Takeuchi.

The company’s pavilion is built on the theme of ‘IMAGINEXT’, that aims to offer a peep into the future of mobility – i.e – connected, driven by technology, and a future that is safe and sustainable, claimed the company.

“Sustainability is ‘a way of life’ for Maruti Suzuki since its inception. The company has inculcated the values of 3 Rs- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle in all its operating processes. These not only make the operations efficient, but also support resource optimization, leading to conservation of natural resources,” added the MD of Maruti Suzuki.
