A study by Juniper Research estimates that around 367 million vehicles will be connected worldwide by 2027.
The new study by Juniper Research forecast, the number of vehicles in companies will increase. Currently 192 million vehicles networked, in 2027 it should be 367 million units. That meant growth of 91 percent, which was primarily due to the further development of driver assistance systems. The infotainment offerings in cars are also increasing in this way.
According to the study, this requires cooperation between car manufacturers and operators in the area 5G. The bandwidth enables the transmission of data from the transport system and third-party services. The operating companies are crucial in order to develop new applications in networking. This also includes autonomous driving or entertainment. In this way, the business volume increases to 3.6 billion US dollars.
The study assumes that commercial vehicles will account for just 20 percent of connected vehicles worldwide by 2027, up slightly from 16 percent by the end of 2023. The researchers also found that companies prioritize tracking and logistics functions for commercial vehicles.
