OSG to create more products for micro-precision machining
TOKYO — Japanese industrial tool maker OSG aims to increase production of micro-precision machine tools for electric vehicles and chipmaking equipment as it looks for new areas of growth.
The company’s core business is making “tap” cutting tools, which are used for creating screw holes. Its high-precision capability has made OSG an important player in the automotive and aircraft industries. It controls 60% of the Japanese market and over 30% worldwide in its core business.
