People Digest: Pantheon, Partners Group, Franklin Templeton make key appointments

Pantheon Ventures has appointed four new partners; Partners Group has named Teppei Kawai as country head of Japan; and Franklin Templeton has hired a former Citi managing director as VP, industry advisory services, EMEA and APAC.

Pantheon appoints four new partners

Global private markets and investing firm Pantheon Ventures has appointed four new partners, including three promotions and a new hire, as per a release.

Stephen Branagan, Global Head of Operations and Head of Ireland; Dianne Remanous, Chief Human Resources Officer; Akitoshi Yamada, Head of Japan Investor Relations; and recently hired chief financial officer Dean Maines have been promoted to partner.

The promotions aim to bolster key operational capabilities and growth in the company’s Asian franchise. Pantheon also announced nine promotions to managing directors to deepen the next generation of leadership talent across the business.

Founded in 1982, Pantheon is a leading global private markets firm currently investing on behalf of more than 800 investors, including public and private pension plans, insurance companies, endowments, and foundations.

Partners Group names new Japan head

Swiss-based global private equity firm Partners Group has appointed Teppei Kawai as managing director, head of client solutions Japan, and head of the Tokyo office, per a release.

Kawai, who joins from Apollo Global Management in Japan, will work with Partners Group’s Tokyo-based team to grow its presence in the key growth market.

The appointment of  Kawai is the second management hire in Japan within six months. In August last year, the company appointed Tatsuya Ochi to lead its direct private equity investment business in the country.

Founded in 1996, Partners Group provides client solutions to institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and private individuals globally.

Franklin Templeton hires Citi veteran

US-based asset manager Franklin Templeton has appointed former Citi managing director Robert Crossley as vice-president, industry advisory services, EMEA and APAC, according to finews.asia.

As vice-president, Crossley will work with the leadership teams in EMEA and APAC to boost sales by providing insight on the future of  investment and wealth management industry. Crossley has an experience of 17 years in business advisory services, global macro strategy, and European rates strategy.

Founded in 1947,  Franklin Templeton is an investment managing firm, specialising in fixed income, equity, alternatives, and multi-asset solutions.
