Greaves Cotton, which showcased three electric scooters – the new Primus and two concepts – along with a trio of electric three-wheelers at the Auto Expo 2023 earlier this month, has announced a collaboration with Eta Green Power, a UK-based advanced electric drive system design company.
Greaves Cotton will now have exclusive rights to Eta Green Power’s technology in the Indian electric two- and three-wheeler market. As per the company, the “e-powertrain suite will be manufactured at the Aurangabad plant with a high degree of component localisation.”
Greaves and Eta Green Power will jointly bring technology related to e-motors and motor controllers with integrated battery chargers for electric two- and three-wheelers. The first joint operation will be localised production of motor controllers and integration of software for electric two- and three-wheelers. The move will enable cost optimisation which in turn will enhance EV affordability across segments.
