Sequoia’s Surge invests in Hatica and India deals worth $97m

Engineering analytics platform Hatica has raised $3.7 million in its seed funding round led by Sequoia Capital India’s accelerator programme Surge.

The financing included participation from existing investor Kae Capital; tech leaders such as Google, Uber, Twitter, Okta, and Notion; and angel investors including Akshay Kothari, Apurva Dalal, Ashutosh Agrawal, Gaurav Lahoti, Punit Soni, Peeyush Ranjan and Pratyus Patnaik, the startup said in a statement.

Founded in 2020 by ex-Uber engineers Naomi Chopra and Haritabh Singh, Hatica equips engineering teams with software development analytics, alongside team productivity and workflow insights, to help them drive engineering productivity and alignment.

“Developers are depending on more and more tools to get their work done, while engineering costs are burgeoning, making developer experience and productivity a critical problem to solve for organisations globally. With Hatica, we’ve embarked on a mission to equip engineering leaders with crucial and actionable insights to help them build effective and happy engineering teams,” said Chopra, co-founder and CEO of Hatica.

“We’ll be utilising the fresh funds to double down on hiring and expand the Hatica team globally to fuel our next phase of growth,” Chopra said.
