Doug Gilmour, chief product marketing manager, is responsible for overseeing current and future vehicle programs at Lincoln. Gilmour leads a team of marketing experts who protect the voice of the customer in all future product decisions. The team develops the offering strategy, pricing and volumes while working with diverse functions across the organization including product development, design and digital connectivity.
Gilmour came to Ford in 2004 after serving as an Officer in the Marine Corps. In his first role at Ford, he helped manage the rollout of key strategic IT initiatives. Several years later, he then had the opportunity to lead the challenging turnaround of a Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealership as its general manager. He then returned to Ford and rotated through multiple marketing, sales and service positions around the country including Quick Lane manager, Lincoln regional manager, and the national Lincoln retail marketing manager.
A Vermont native, Gilmour received a bachelor’s degree in Classics from Skidmore College and later earned his MBA in supply chain management from Michigan State University. He knew automotive was his passion, inspired by his uncle who had a long career at Ford. “We’re lucky to work on some of the most exciting products in the world,” said Gilmour. “And my hope is that we can help influence and drive the EV revolution.”
Outside of work, Gilmour loves to take advantage of Michigan’s wonderful seasons – alpine ski racing at Boyne Mountain in the winter and boating on Lake St. Clair in the summer – with his wife, two boys and dog.
