Ather Energy plans to have a network of 3500 fast chargers by 2023

To ensure minimal range anxiety for its buyers, Ather Energy, the country’s premium electric scooter maker has finished installing over 1000 fast charging stations across 80 cities, which it plans to grow over 3.5 times to 2500 stations by the end of 2023.

The company claims, it has become India’s largest fast-charging network for two-wheelers with an installed grids strategically across cities to enable intercity rides, Ather plans to install 2500+ fast charging grids by the end of 2023

Ather has been on an expansion spree to ensure easy access to its flagship scooters and plans to install 2500+ fast charging grids by the end of 2023 to foster range confidence and facilitate a hassle-free transition to EVs, the company said in a statement.

It plans to penetrate further into the Tier 2 and Tier 4 markets with these incremental 2500 more fast charging stations it plans to add this year.

Commenting on the milestone, Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said the company has made substantial investments in building India’s largest public fast-charging network and is looking to accelerate and scale up by adding Neighbourhood Charging – a charging solution focused on semi-private spaces such as apartment blocks, office, tech-parks. “We stay committed to investing strategically in the space and supporting the growth of the industry,” Phokela added.

Ather Energy posted its biggest spike in volumes in January with sales of 12419 units in January making it the third largest player followed by TVS.  

To meet the rising demand in the country, Ather recently inaugurated its second manufacturing facility in Hosur. 

Ather Energy currently has a sales network with a presence in 80 cities with over 100 Experience Centres. The company is looking at a solid expansion roadmap covering tier 1,2 & 3 cities in India, with plans to increase its retail footprint to 150 centres in 100 cities by March 2023.
