Michigan opens the Central Mobility Lab

The Central Mobility Lab will soon open in Detroit, Michigan, and will conduct research on transportation.

The manufacturer ford had part of Michigan central station bought and turns it into a center for traffic research, where one is also interested in autonomous driving.

The company’s boss, Bill Ford, is pursuing the idea that improved mobility leads to more jobs, more health care and more education. In any case, a lot of money is invested in the research center that was founded together with the New York Brooklyn Navy Yard. The opening of the incubator “Newlab” should take place in the spring.

Many start-ups, whose topics are e-mobility, aircraft and autonomous driving, gather on the site. Early members include Airspace Link, Canopy, Grounded, wheel.me, and Cavnue. The lab wants to support the start-ups in marketing by helping them find investments, carry out pilot projects and the commercialization itself.
