Employees of the Stellantis group (Peugeot, Renault, Citroën) will receive a minimum of 3,880 euros in bonuses, the car manufacturer announced. Good news for the purchasing power of staff but an unequal sharing between shareholders and workers according to the CFDT.
Good news for the employees of the Stellantis group. The manufacturer of Peugeot, Renault and Citroën will redistribute 2 billion euros to its employees around the world due to record performance in 2022, including a minimum of 4,300 euros per French employee, announced Wednesday the car manufacturer on the sidelines of the presentation of its annual results.
In 2022, Stellantis had an exceptional year with a record net profit of 16.8 billion euros, up 26% compared to 2021. “C5 Aircross sales boost results. The company favors profitable vehicles”, explains Laurent Valy of the CFDT of the Stellantis group, in Rennes.
The redistribution is unequal. The shareholders receive 4 billion, while the employees share two billion.

The group increases its redistribution measures, via participation and profit-sharing, by 200 million euros compared to last year: “2.4 months of salary for the first levels of remuneration, this is the redistribution more important for ten years”, underlined the director of human resources (HRD) World Xavier Chéreau during a press conference.
For the trade unionist from Rennes, the redistribution is not advantageous enough for the employees: “The redistribution is unequal. The shareholders receive 4 billion, while the employees share two billion”.
“These bonuses are clearly below expectations and absolutely do not reflect the commitment of employees and economic outperformance,” for its part estimated the CFDT.
“It is a very bad sign that the Stellantis group is sending to employees by once again favoring shareholders”, continued the union, referring to the payment of 4.2 billion euros in dividends for the 2022 financial year. .
The record profit recorded this year “was only possible thanks to the commitment and involvement of all the employees of the group”, underlined in a press release Force Ouvrière, the first union of the group.
“All is not rosy at Stellantis. If this bonus falls well vis-à-vis purchasing power, we must not forget that employees face regular partial activities which reduce wages”, explains Laurent Valy of the CFDT of the Stellantis group in Rennes.
“This bonus is not nothing”, recognizes the trade unionist “but we want hiring” insists the trade unionist who recalls that the results of the manufacturer are also due to the use of the hyperflexibility of a large steering wheel of temporary workers .
At most, a French employee will be able to receive 6,190 euros, said HRD France, Bruno Bertin. The proposed incentive measure comes on top of a 5.3% salary increase for the year 2023 in France negotiated in December with the social partners.
In October, faced with a movement of anger and walkouts, the management of Stellantis also granted a value-sharing bonus of 1,000 euros for employees earning up to about twice the Smic.
Stellantis, resulting from the merger between Fiat-Chrysler and PSA. Two years ago, has 264,000 employees worldwide, including 44,000 in France where 12 factories are located.
