PLANO, Texas (Feb. 22, 2023) – Toyota is conducting a safety noncompliance recall involving certain Tundra model grades in North and South America. Approximately 10,000 vehicles are involved in this recall.
The subject vehicles are equipped with a 12.3-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) monitor, which is used to display various information such as warning and indicator lights, vehicle gauges, messages and more. The TFT monitor can go blank due to a software issue. A blank monitor creates a noncompliance with certain federal requirements. This can reduce the driver’s recognition of certain operating conditions, which can lead to an increased risk of a crash.
For all involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will update the software for the LCD monitor at no cost to customers.
Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by late April 2023.
