Record profit for Stellantis, insufficient bonus for unions: “It will not solve the problem of purchasing power”

Last year, the automaker made 16.8 billion euros in profit, of which 2 billion will be redistributed to its employees. Three factories are located in the Hauts-de-France region. For the unions, the redistribution of wealth is unequal.

A profit-sharing bonus in the amount of 4,300 to 6,190 euros gross. Or 300 euros more than last year.

This is what the 4,400 northern employees of the Stellantis group should receive.

For the second consecutive year, the profits of the Stellantis group are increasing: +26% in 2022.

At the Stellantis site in Hordain, commercial vehicles are produced. More than 2,000 employees will soon receive their incentive bonuses.

“We are a little disappointed”, however explains Didier Delbecq, CFTC representative. “It is felt that the efforts are not paid enough.”

To argue, the union relies on figures. “Fifteen years ago, we made 720 vehicles, we were 4,700 employees at the highest. We are more than 2,100 and we make 670 cars a day.”

Behind the good news announced to the employees, the CGT underlines several things: “The sum is conditioned on a time of presence” and “the profit-sharing does not participate in the contribution for pensions”.

Franck Théry, CGT general secretary, demands a salary increase of 400 euros, for all.

This bonus will make it possible to replenish the overdrafts that we have accumulated throughout the year, but it will not solve the problem of purchasing power.

The bonuses should be paid from April.
