Bitkub to invest in ThaiGPT
Thailand’s largest crypto exchange Bitkub has announced that it will invest in ThaiGPT, a homegrown artificial intelligence startup, according to a personal Facebook post of its top executive.
“Bitkub will step in to help set up its business… and become an early use-case solution for the platform,” said Sakolkorn Sakavee, founder and chairman of Bitkub Capital Group Holdings.
Founded last month by Tokenine’s founder Dom Charoenyos and software-AI developer Panutat Techasen, ThaiGPT aims to become an AI research and development company, especially in the field of large language models and generative AI, according to its official website.
The startup is riding on the global boom of natural language processing and generative models where adoption of the technologies in Thailand may run into language barrier issues as one of the challenges.
“I’m interested in Transformative AI, which has a recommendation system, such as the visibility order on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and other e-commerce platforms,” said Techasen in a separate Facebook post. “AI is prioritising human-generated content and influencing people’s decisions in terms of interests, sales, and political outcomes… Generative AI is not only prioritising content but it is also creating content itself. It would be a shame not to jump in now since this technology would definitely change the world.”
CrediLinq.AI’s raises funds in seed extension round
Singapore-based embedded finance startup CrediLinq.AI has raised funding in a seed extension round led by MS&AD Ventures, the venture capital arm of global insurance conglomerate MS&AD Insurance Group.
Big Sky Capital along with existing investors such as Southeast Asia-focused fintech investor 1982 Ventures, 500 Global, White Venture Capital, Sketchnote Partners, Plug and Play, Arkana Ventures and Sequoia Sprouts participated in the round.
The startup plans to use the funds to expand its team and fuel growth globally beyond its initial target market. Credilinq.AI aims to enable B2B platforms and marketplaces in offering faster B2B online financing and payments for SMEs.
“CrediLinq.AI is seeing massive client demand to scale into new markets. As the digital landscape for B2B embedded financing continues to evolve, businesses are increasingly seeking innovative experiences that offer seamless and efficient credit solutions.” said Scott Krivokopich, Founding Managing Partner of 1982 Ventures.
Founded in 2021, CrediLinq is a technology infrastructure company that is enabling B2B platforms to offer embedded finance to their customers.
