Esports firm NODWIN Gaming said its Singapore subsidiary has acquired live media company Branded, while Verz Design announced raising $2 million from Chinese digital marketing group Meetsocial.

NODWIN Gaming’s SG unit acquires Branded

Global esports company NODWIN Gaming announced that its Singapore subsidiary has acquired a majority stake in Branded, a full-service live media company based in the city-state. NODWIN Gaming is the esports and gaming arm of Nazara Technologies Limited, an India-headquartered gaming and sports media platform.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed but NODWIN said its Singapore unit has acquired a 51% stake in the live media company. The acquisition includes all existing event IPs of Branded, including “All That Matters”, “It’s a Girl Thing” and “CreatorWorld”.

“All That Matters” is Asia’s premier conference and connections hub that features a number of sub-brand events. “It’s A Girl Thing”, on the other hand, is an empowerment platform and touring festival for young women.

Branded teams up with organisations to create, produce, and commercialise online and offline multimedia platforms for consumers’ engagement, information, and entertainment, according to the announcement.

Verz Design raises $2m from China’s Meetsocial

Verz Design, a Singapore-based web design and digital marketing company, has secured a $2-million investment from Chinese cross-border digital marketing solutions provider Meetsocial, according to a company announcement.

The fresh investment will be used to further expand Verz Design, with plans to enter China and other geographical territories, the company said.

Andy Cheng, Strategic Investment Lead at Meetsocial, said the investment expands the company’s reach in the Southeast Asia region.

Verz Design’s services include website design, web development, e-commerce development, digital marketing, and UI/UX design, among others. The company claims to have served over 3,000 clients and created 4,000 websites.

Meetsocial, on the other hand, is a Chinese digital marketing group that offers a customised media matrix for clients. It partners with over 30 global media channels to meet the demands of its client base in China.
