Vauxhall’s new Astra Sports Tourer Ultimate is available to order now as a new range-topping trim level for the firm’s only estate car. Starting from £33,765, the ‘Ultimate’ version of the Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer estate gets additional equipment plus a unique exterior design.
The new trim level comes to both petrol and plug-in hybrid versions of the Sports Tourer, while Vauxhall has also removed diesel powertrains from the Astra range due to ‘market trends’ – meaning the Grandland is now the only car Vauxhall sells with a diesel engine.
Sitting above the GS models, the Ultimate gains adaptive LED headlights and safety systems like lane change assist with blind spot alert and rear cross traffic alert. The front sport seats are heated and upholstered in Alcantara leather, plus Vauxhall has added its latest head-up display system and wireless smartphone charging as standard.
In terms of exterior tweaks, there are 18-inch grey diamond-cut alloy wheels, gloss black roof rails, a powered tailgate and a panoramic sunroof.
The introduction of the Sports Tourer Ultimate also brings change elsewhere in the Astra lineup. Entry-level Design models now get a chrome ‘Vizor’ front end and new bumper stripes finished in gloss black. Additional driver assist technology also comes to every Astra fitted with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
