Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, a part of the Mahindra & Mahindra Group, organised a ceremony for a new manufacturing unit at its existing plant in Zaheerabad, Telangana.
This follows the Rs 1,000 crore investment in Telangana that M&M announced in February earlier this year. With this facility, the company aims to build a state of the art assembly line, producing power packs and manufacture electronic as well as drivetrain components for electric 3- and 4-wheelers. The facility will also create employment for 800 to 1000 employees in the region.
K.T. Rama Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development; Industries and Commerce; and Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Government of Telangana, was the chief guest. Other notable guests of honour included K Manik Rao, MLA, Zaheerabad Constituency and Jayesh Ranjan, IAS – Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce and IT, Government of Telangana.
K.T. Rama Rao said that electric vehicles were a focus area for the government of Telangana, and they were committed to building the right infrastructure and ecosystem for the same.
Through shared mobility, charging infrastrcture and development, Telangana’s Electric Vehicle and Storage Systems Policy 2020-30, aims to attract pricacte investments worth US$4 billion iin the electric vehicle sector, and generate employment for 1.20,000 people by 2030.
