“At Lexus, every day is Earth Day. Lexus stays true to the commitment of driving a better future through various efforts to minimize the carbon footprint and develop vehicles that are synonymous with conscious luxury,” Naveen Soni, President, Lexus India, said.
Lexus continues to showcase its technology, material usage, processes, and associations that have been designed to follow an environmentally friendly path. Lexus developed the industry’s first bamboo-charcoal speakers, using materials made from recycled plastics, castor seeds to biodegradable sugarcane, thereby pushing the envelope of sustainable material design.
Further driving its commitment to a better tomorrow, Lexus introduced the Lexus Design Award India (LDAI) in 2018, demonstrating the vision through design. Through this property, the company recognizes the talent that helps contribute significantly to a better tomorrow and support the cause for a more sustainable future.
The project has planted over 30,000 trees all over the country, with the support of Grow-Trees. In continuation of this vision towards neutrality, by 2035 Lexus will line up 100% battery electric cars.
