Sumeet Tandon, former Chief Market Development Officer, Varroc, who resigned a couple of days ago is set to join SAR group as the CEO of Powertrain business for EVs, according to sources.
SAR Group, progenitor of brand Luminous is a leading global company delivering high quality power products for home and commercial applications.
The company’s group portfolio comprises purity, health and wellness, energy storage, home electricals, renewable energy, power backup and power storage, renewable and alternate energy solutions like biomass pellets and solar, respectively.
Founded in 1988, the group has revenues exceeding USD 500 million in FY 14-15 and has grown in strength year-after-year to 4000 employees.
Tandon moved to Varroc in September 2018 after working for around four years with Lumax Group as Executive Vice President. At Lumax he looked after business development and strategy.
At Varroc, he was instrumental in expanding the business, looking after the components for electric vehicles. This was by way of sewing up agreements with Sensata Technologies. This is a global industrial technology company and leading provider of sensor-rich solutions that create insights for customers.
Tandon also played an instrumental role in a tie-up with British Columbia-based Delta-Q. Delta-Q designs, tests and manufactures robust battery chargers to make EV components. During his tenure, Varroc also expanded their portfolio into telematics.
Tandon completed his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College. He did his MBA from Institute of Management and Technology, Ghaziabad.
