Stellantis, which operates through Jeep and Citroen brands in the country, appointed Aditya Jairaj as Deputy Managing Director of the group, two people aware of the development informed ETAuto.
Aditya Jairaj was leading the electric vehicle transformation for Nissan in the US, as a part of Nissan’s Ambition 2030 long-term vision. He was working as Head – Electric Vehicles Strategy & Transformation. He has been associated with the brand for over six years.
On the condition of anonymity, one of the sources informed ETAuto that Aditya Jairaj will be replacing Roland Bouchara the current CEO & Managing Director for Stellantis India. Bouchara will be moving to a newer role outside India.
An email query sent to Stellantis India did not elicit a response.
In the interim, Jairaj will also be working as Brand head for Jeep India replacing Nipun Mahajan. As per the sources, Nipun has been transferred to the APAC region.
With over 15 years of experience in various fields and countries around the world, Jairaj has a Master’s in Engineering Management from the University of Warwick, UK. He has also completed an MBA at Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management to round out his business mindset.
Jairaj has been named an Automotive News Rising Star for the launch of Nissan Ariya’s electric vehicle.
Two years ago, the company appointed Roland Bouchara as CEO and managing director for India operations with full responsibility for the Jeep and Citroën national sales companies (NSCs), coupled with the Group’s manufacturing operations.
Since 2017, Bouchara had been leading the Citroën India operations as the senior vice president of sales and marketing for the brand, the company said in a release. This included end-to-end execution of the recent launch of the Citroën brand and its first product in India – the new Citroën C5 Aircross.
Prior to joining Groupe PSA in 2017, Bouchara held several key leadership positions at Renault including, managing director UK, head of Europe NSCs (Germany, UK, Spain and Italy), and SVP – sales and marketing for Asia Pacific and China.
