Cruise is expanding its self-driving car offerings in several cities, most notably Houston and Dallas, to increase its presence in Texas.
started late last year Cruise already testing its vehicles in austin and announced that it would test its Origins built for robotic taxis there in early 2023.
Cruise that too General Motors heard, announced via its Twitter account that they will begin supervised testing in Houston in the coming days. Monitored means there will be security guards in the car. Shortly thereafter, Dallas is targeted. For the time being, users do not have access to these vehicles. Cruise will first conduct driving tests without passengers before the vehicles are made accessible.
Interested individuals can use Cruise’s sign-up page to sign up for the waitlist as the program will initially be invitation-only but will be open to the public regarding request. It’s been a busy year for Cruise, with the expansion of its testing program to new locations and also the expansion of its pilot program in san francisco, where his cars are now available 24/7 across the city – but only to the workforce for now.
