Matrix Partners China, the Chinese franchise of US venture capital (VC) major Matrix Partners, has set up a new office in Singapore, making it the latest China-focused investment house to build a presence in the city-state.
The Singapore office is, however, not primarily for investments in the city or Southeast Asia’s emerging markets, as the firm seeks to retain its focus on the long-term potential of the Chinese market, DealStreetAsia has learnt. It does not rule out the possibility of the new office being used for fundraising and investor relations.
