Funding winter, slower dealmaking could prompt Indian investors to temper expectations

If the amount raised by private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) firms so far this year is anything to go by, investors currently on the fundraising trail could be in for a rough ride.

According to data available from research firm Venture Intelligence, India-focused PE and VC firms amassed as much as $2.4 billion in the first four months of this year, which is almost a 30% drop from the corresponding period last year.
