Chinese battery maker Zenergy’s new 25 GWh plant has started operations in Changshu, Jiangsu province, which is expected to help it better meet the growing demand in China, one of the world’s largest battery markets.

Cao Fang, chairman of Zenergy, said as China is marching towards its dual-carbon goals, the company will strive to make greater contributions through its innovations and products.

The Changshu plant is a “software-defined” facility, which among other things can cut its response to client orders by 50 percent and improve its efficiency by 33 percent, said the battery maker.

At the same event, Zenergy unveiled four new class-leading battery products. Of them is a battery for aviation use that has an energy density of 320 kW and can get 80 percent charged in 15 minutes.

Another is a storage battery, whose capacity reaches 314 Ah and energy density stands at 180 Wh/kg.

Established in 2019, Zenergy has already a rich portfolio of products including power batteries and storage ones in the market, with its clients including SAIC, Geely as well as China Three Gorges Corporation.
