Spanish information technology and defense systems firm Indra said on Thursday it appointed Jose Vicente de los Mozos as its new chief executive, the third in two years.
His appointment has to be ratified by shareholders at their next meeting set for June 30, the company said.
Vicente de los Mozos replaces Ignacio Mataix, whose departure the company announced in March, as part of a new three-year strategic plan.
Mataix will stay on as a strategic adviser to the board of directors for two years, as previously announced.
The new chief executive, Vicente de los Mozos, spent the majority of his career at car making group Renault, starting there as an intern and ending up in charge of all Nissan Spain’s industrial operations.
Indra suffered a governance crisis in 2022 when eight independent board members were ousted or resigned after shareholders unexpectedly agreed to give the government more control.
State holding company SEPI is Indra’s biggest shareholder with a stake of 25.2%, Refinitiv data shows.
Despite the internal turbulence, the company booked solid results in the first quarter, as Spain and other European nations step up military spending following war in Ukraine.
