Singapore-based climate investor TRIREC has partnered with New Zealand-based deep-tech venture capital firm Pacific Channel, while Indonesia-based Super Bank has announced a collaboration with Dutch consumer lender Home Credit’s Indonesia unit.

TRIREC partners with Pacific Channel

Singapore-based climate investor TRIREC has partnered with New Zealand-based deep-tech venture capital firm Pacific Channel.

The partnership aims to identify and explore investment in New Zealand & Australia-based deep-tech startups addressing climate change and supporting technologies.

Pacific Channel, New Zealand’s leading early-stage investment firm, closed its $55 million second investment fund – Fund II in 2020. The fund seeks to invest in up to 25 NZ-based companies focused on the future of food, health and environment.

TRIREC is a Singapore-headquartered global venture capital investor focused on decarbonisation
investments. TRIREC closed its second fund at around $80 million this month.

Super Bank partners with Home Credit

Indonesia-based Super Bank has announced a collaboration with Dutch consumer lender Home Credit‘s Indonesia unit.

Super Bank will provide working capital loans to Home Credit, which will be distributed as multipurpose loans to underbanked communities in Indonesia.

“As for 2022, we have reached first-time borrowers at an average of 32% per month. Collaboration with our banking partners, one of which is Super Bank, can help us to expand our range of services, including multipurpose financing for our existing customers,” said Home Credit Indonesia director Volker Giebitz.

Super Bank was established after Bank Fama International was taken over by the EMTEK Group, Grab and Singtel in 2021. The bank is currently transforming into a digital-based services bank and aims to expand access to credit for MSME customers.

Operating since 2013,  Home Credit Indonesia is a technology-based financing company that provides customer goods financing, cash financing, pay later and protection. It secured a $10.4-million ESG-linked loan facility from Deutsche Bank last year.
