GrabFood today announced GrabFood Dine-in BETA, a new feature to make it more convenient for consumers to discover, decide on and travel to their next dining venue, and can drive more consumers and potential new sales to Grab merchant-partners.
Singapore, 1 June 2023 – GrabFood today announced GrabFood Dine-in BETA, a new feature to help consumers easily find suitable restaurants near them. When deciding what to eat, consumers can open the Grab app and use GrabFood Dine-in BETA to pre-purchase dine-in vouchers, view restaurants’ menus and consumer reviews, and book rides to restaurants. This pilot feature makes it more convenient for consumers to discover, decide on and travel to their next dining venue, and can drive more consumers and potential new sales to Grab merchant-partners.
Bringing consumers more convenience and affordability
“People are eating out more again so we’re really excited to be launching GrabFood Dine-in BETA. It not only helps our users discover restaurants to go to, but also makes eating out more affordable as several merchant-partners are offering attractive dine-in vouchers that can be purchased through the app,” said Tay Chuen Jein, Head of Deliveries, Grab Singapore.
Tay added, “Oftentimes, when deciding what to eat with friends or family, a common answer is “Anything!”, then we end up discussing where to go. Interestingly, 74% of Grab users are already using our app to get their next meal inspiration, hence it was a natural move for us to further enhance this experience through the launch of our new Dine-in BETA. Now, whenever you want to eat – whether at home via delivery, or outside – you can simply tap on GrabFood to discover meal options and to get attractive deals.”
GrabFood Dine-in BETA furthers Grab’s commitment to bringing users greater affordability by offering attractive restaurant discounts, which are one of the top factors that influence a consumer’s restaurant selection[1]. As a start, more than 100 participating outlets are offering vouchers with discounts of up to 30% off their dine-in menus. Brands with exclusive GrabFood dine-in discounts include popular names like A-One Signature, Cedele and Sakae Sushi Group, amongst others.
It also aims to provide important information about a restaurant on their profile page. Consumer reviews are currently available for several merchant-partners, as more than 70% of Grab users say they rely on reviews from digital platforms and word-of-mouth[2], when deciding on their next dining venue. More will be made available soon. Users can also view a restaurant’s menu and see personalised dish recommendations based on their past GrabFood delivery orders. The restaurant’s opening hours and address are provided, and users can book a Grab ride to the restaurant directly from the merchant’s profile page.
More sales opportunities for merchant-partners
Dine-in Beta provides merchant-partners another way to serve Grab’s large user base and to potentially grow their dine-in business. The ability to cater to consumers’ dine-in, delivery and self pick-up needs on a single platform makes it much easier for merchant-partners to now expand their revenue streams.
