José López-Tafall, general director of ANFAC indicated that “for the fifth month this year, we observe how the increase in the sale of electrified vehicles is insufficient for the fulfillment of the emission reduction objectives to which Spain has committed: it is hardly closes the month with 10% of the total market share. While Europe and our partners grow, we remain almost at a standstill. In addition, with the call for general elections, the necessary measures are once again pending to recover this delay and prevent 2023 from being a lost year, as ANFAC warned in January. We need to be more agile and we hope that at least the call for projects for the battery line and those linked to electric vehicles with the surplus funds from PERTE VEC will be made before the general elections. We also ask the parties to expressly incorporate into their programs new measures to facilitate the access of companies and citizens to the new electrified vehicles, especially fiscal measures. If there is a climate urgency, and mobility is key, the sector and citizens are going to need much more support from public administrations”.
