Rolls-Royce is known for creating limited edition models, including several, stunningly expensive one-offs and now there’s a special version of the Black Badge Cullinan called the ‘Blue Shadow’.
We don’t know how much each of the 62 Rolls-Royce Black Badge Cullinan Blue Shadows will cost (we expect significantly more than the standard car, which is priced from around £350,000), not that it matters too much because they’re all sold out.
Those 62 customers will find plenty of new details, bespoke to the Blue Shadow. One of the most eye-catching (at night anyway) is the ‘Lunar’ headliner which features 1,183 fibre-optic ‘stars’. Rolls-Royce says this is a nod to the Karman Line which is an invisible boundary 62 miles above Earth’s surface – hence the allocation amount.
The exterior is finished in ‘Stardust Blue’ paint, again bespoke to the Blue Shadow, while the Spirit of Ecstasy is created with a blue-tinted lacquer and ‘Blue Shadow’ is engraved on the base.
The seats are covered in perforations, aligned to look like Earth from space. Even the picnic table backs in the boot receive the pattern. There’s further blue colouring to the Blue Shadow’s dash and door cards, plus the sills have ‘Cullinan Blue Shadow Private Collection One of Sixty-two’ plaques on them.
