Jeep is working with artificial intelligence to bring autonomous driving off the road. Several prototype Jeeps used the technology in the Moab desert in Utah – one of the firm’s favoured testing grounds.
Two Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe models were chosen as the base to test the new technology and Jeep even showcased the event through a short online video.
Jeep says the autonomous off-road driving technology fitted on the cars “can enhance the experiences of seasoned off-roaders, as well as customers who are new to driving the trail.” Jeep also claims the system is designed to help with everyday driving.
“These features and technology will have real-life applications on and off-road the trail in a wide range of driving conditions,” said Christian Meunier, Jeep’s CEO.
A full reveal of Jeep’s plans for autonomous off-road driving will take place this summer.
