Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – June 13, 2023 . . .BMW driver Neil Verhagen (USA) will substitute for John Edwards (USA) during the June 16– 18 SRO Motorsport America weekend at VIRginia International Raceway, in Alton, Virginia, and co-drive with Samantha Tan (CAN) in the No. 38 Samantha Tan Racing BMW M4 GT3. Edwards, a BMW driver since 2013, is reducing his racing schedule and said, “I am re-focusing on my family and am switching gears professionally as Serena and I get ready for the birth of our first child in August. Thanks to Neil for helping at VIR and BMW for being understanding. I look forward to competing in the remaining endurance races.”Selected as a Team USA Scholarship winner in 2016, Verhagen spent a number of seasons in the European open-wheel ranks, before he was named a member of the BMW Junior Team in 2020 and becoming a GT specialist. Verhagen has open wheel experience on VIR’s 18-turns and 3.27- miles in addition to a great deal of time behind the wheel of the BMW M4 GT3.Named a brand ambassador for BMW M Motorsport earlier this year, Tan currently stands 15th in SRO GT World Challenge Pro-Am driver points after six rounds of competition. ST Racing stands 8th in Pro-Am team points. “I am thrilled to join ST Racing for this weekend’s GTWC America event at VIR.” said Neil Verhagen. “A big thank you for this opportunity to BMW M Motorsport and ST Racing. I’m looking forward to driving with Samantha this weekend. I met her last year, and it’s been very impressive to see her making the step from the GT4 to the GT3 category. VIR is a track not far from my home in America, So I can really consider this a home race. I have a small amount of experience at this track previously before moving over to Europe. It will be amazing to get back on track at this challenging and exciting track! ST Racing have done an awesome job so far this season with John. I will give everything I’ve got to help achieve a great first weekend with the team.” BMW Group In AmericaBMW of North America, LLC has been present in the United States since 1975.  Rolls-Royce Motor Cars NA, LLC began distributing vehicles in 2003.  The BMW Group in the United States has grown to include marketing, sales, and financial service organizations for the BMW brand of motor vehicles, including motorcycles, the MINI brand, and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars; Designworks, a strategic design consultancy based in California;  a technology office in Silicon Valley, and various other operations throughout the country.  BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC in South Carolina is the BMW Group global center of competence for BMW X models and manufactures the X3, X4, X5, X6 and X7 Sports Activity Vehicles as well as the BMW XM.
