Tencent-backed German aerospace company Lilium plans to set up a regional headquarters in southern China’s Shenzhen as a first step in a partnership to sell its all-electric air vehicle in the Asia-Pacific region, starting in the Greater Bay Area.
The Bao’an District of Shenzhen municipality, where Tencent Holdings is based, said Monday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding for the opening of Lilium’s Asian headquarters in the district before year’s end. The district will support market assessment, office and vertiport establishment and entry into service in China for the Lilium Jet, the company said.
